Principal Litigation Lawyer, Australian Federal Police (AFP) – Moricia worked as part of the Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce, an AFP-led initiative that integrates expertise across investigations, litigation, intelligence, forensic accounting, and financial crime analysis. Moricia was responsible for conducting civil litigation, targeting assets linked to organised crime, money laundering, and financial fraud.

Moricia regularly instructed counsel in high-stakes litigation and worked closely with investigators leading up to the court date. She also appeared in Supreme Courts and Country Courts across multiple jurisdictions, advocating for the confiscation of criminal assets. Moricia worked with investigators in proceeds of crime litigation both nationally and internationally, appearing in courts to provide strategic litigation support in high-level criminal matters.

Director of Legal Services, Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) – In this pivotal leadership role, Moricia directly oversaw high-profile indictable crime cases, including murder, sexual offences, aggravated burglaries, and serious violent crime. She managed four practice teams: Criminal Law, Family and Youth Law (including family law, youth crime, child protection, and intervention orders), and Civil Law. Her leadership in the courtroom was extensive, involving daily appearances in contested bail applications, trials, sentencing hearings, and complex litigation.

Beyond management responsibilities, Moricia was a leading advocate for clients facing serious charges, ensuring rigorous defence strategies were implemented in criminal proceedings. She also spearheaded the establishment of the Police and Prison Accountability Practice, focusing on excessive use of force cases, wrongful imprisonment, and systemic misconduct claims.
